Avant-garde Japanese brand Sasquatchfabrix. continually produce great-looking accessories. A leather hat could easily be a bad idea, but one closely modelled on the classic US military boonie style is a bonus in my book, especially when rendered in a luxurious yet tough material that can be counted on to stand up to everyday abuse.

The latest collection from Our Legacy, entitled 'Syndrome,' plays off a series of different ideas: the fleeting attraction to a piece of clothing found while traveling; the contrast between casualwear and uniform, and how they intersect; and the mix of extreme utilitarian detailing on light 'soft' styles that bear a borderline feminine aesthetic. The accompanying lookbook, shot by Erik Wåhlström and art directed by Andreas Doré, is one of the best from the Swedish brand, using a combination of colour and black and white imagery to illustrate these themes beautifully.

The Margaret Howell Autumn-Winter '16 men's collection was presented at the brand's Wigmore Street store in London today. A mix of mainline and MHL pieces combined to create an effortless balance between the tailored and utilitarian styles that often define each label. Highlights included six-button double breasted jackets, long belted Mackintosh coats, and Dainite-soled Chelsea boots, while two-tone silk scarves and high-waisted cropped trousers formed a consistent thread throughout. I’ve always liked the utilitarian nature of helmet bags, especially the updated versions produced by Porter. This one, recently received by The Bureau, is especially nice, incorporating an MA-1-referencing olive and rescue orange colour combination. The exterior is made from military grade nylon, built to stand up to the rigours of daily use, and features an interesting variance in tone between body and pockets.
