Last month, Joya, Frederick Bouchardy's Brooklyn-based fragrance company, opened their first retail location. The space in Clinton Hill combines a small shopfront with their production facility. The interior of the renovated 19th century rigging garage was devised by Taylor and Miller Architecture and Design, using floating wood and steel panels suspended from the ceiling. These separate the shop from the factory, but also create a strong connection between the two by allowing you to see behind the scenes, while perusing a selection of finished products.

DSM London: Last Window – Loud and Silent

After almost 12 years at the current address, Dover Street Market has just unveiled the final window display at its original London location. The store closes on Thursday, March 10th and nine days later, on Saturday, March 19th, a new chapter in the retailer's history begins. Their next home, the old Burberry building at 18-22 Haymarket, is currently being transformed and glimpses of this process can be seen via the Dispatches section on the DSM London website. The images will create an interesting juxtaposition with the finished space in three weeks time, but for now it's great to see things taking shape.

Following the temporary closure of their Redchurch Street store for what promises to be an ambitious facelift, Hostem have relocated to a new home around the corner. The short-term space on Old Nichol Street is defined by an Oscar Tuazon-inspired oak framework, displaying Spring-Summer '16 items from the likes of Comme des Garçons, Loewe, Raf Simons, Thom Browne and Yohji Yamamoto, alongside special pieces by Amy Revier, Geoffrey B. Small and Heikki Salonen, among others. Elsewhere, artworks by Kika Karadi, Graham Collins and Lucien Smith combine with Pierre Jeanneret furniture and a huge Douglas fir picnic table to create a unique yet welcoming environment, below beautiful vaulted glass ceilings.

Known for creating beautifully made, classic neckwear and pocket handkerchiefs, Alexander Olch has recently expanded his offering to include hats, shirting and pyjamas, all of which can be found at his first flagship store. Located on Orchard Street in New York's Lower East Side, the well-appointed brick and mortar, featuring hand bent glass light fixtures and simple white shelving, was built out by the design firm Ennis McIntosh.

Occupying a 1950s vecindad brimming with plant life, they run a flower shop called Flores Cosmos. The married couple's workshop is right next door to their home, with every square inch of the complex acting as a way for them to exercise their obvious passion for greenery.

When considering places to track down certain high-end labels Michigan might not spring to mind, but now is probably a good time to start rethinking that. Revive is tucked away in the Detroit suburb of Birmingham and judging by their online offering – which includes the likes of Raf Simons, Undercover and Visvim – they’re doing things a whole lot better than many shops in much bigger cities.

There’s sure to be something for most, ranging from fashion-forward lines to more vintage-inspired brands. Interestingly enough, Revive has worked with Fuct SSDD to create a couple of limited edition jackets for the holiday season that draw on historical military references. One such style is an olive drab bomber jacket with special stencilling and patches, while the other is a reversible satin souvenir jacket with custom embroidery on one side and a plain reverse. Both are due to be released today at noon EST. If any of this sounds up your alley, be sure to add this outstanding shop to your browsing list to catch future new arrivals.
