Words

Salomon make the best trail running shoes. At any race they're probably being worn by over 50% of the field, but adventurous fashion consumers have been taking the brand's footwear to more urban arenas in the last couple of years. The Broken Arm in Paris have an exclusive offering of three models in all black, the S-Lab Speed being the most rugged of the trio.

Our Legacy SS16 'Syndrome' Collection

Info

Photography: Erik Wåhlström
Art Direction: Andreas Doré

Words

The latest collection from Our Legacy, entitled 'Syndrome,' plays off a series of different ideas: the fleeting attraction to a piece of clothing found while traveling; the contrast between casualwear and uniform, and how they intersect; and the mix of extreme utilitarian detailing on light 'soft' styles that bear a borderline feminine aesthetic. The accompanying lookbook, shot by Erik Wåhlström and art directed by Andreas Doré, is one of the best from the Swedish brand, using a combination of colour and black and white imagery to illustrate these themes beautifully.

Pye Corner Audio – Prowler

Info

MTH008
Second pressing
Edition of 500

Words

"Building on the eldritch electronica of Martin Jenkins' four-volume Black Mill Tapes, comes Prowler: a seven-track collection of kosmische synthscapes that will appeal to fans of Broadcast and the Warp label. Cinematic in conception and approach, the LP wordlessly reveals a small-hours narrative of tension and fear, via creeping keys, fragmentary melodies and water-torture percussion."

Y-3 Kohna

Image

01. Neoprene upper.

Words

Among the early deliveries at Très Bien are these trainers by Y-3. Made from a mix of neoprene and leather, the Kohna model feels reminiscent of Reebok's Instapump Fury – a shoe that has a lot of potential. Y-3's version, however, comes in all black and feels a bit more polished overall.
