Postalco Goatskin Leather Wallet

01

Image

01. Lined with pig and calfskin.

Words

A wallet seems to be one of those personal items that deserves the extra investment, considering it is an integral element of daily life for most people – almost always being carried on one’s person and organizing the most important tools we interact with: our methods of payment. Try leaving your wallet at home and see how far you get. If I had to choose one basic bifold wallet, it would probably have to be this version from Postalco. The goatskin leather has a nice pebbled texture, not to mention its exceptional durability. Now I just have to bite the bullet and shell out the cash to carry it, seeing as I am in need of an upgrade anyway.

Words

Margaret Howell unveiled their Spring-Summer '16 men's collection in London this morning. Tailored shorts, trousers and jackets worn with classic shirting, knits and rainwear formed characteristically casual looks, many of which featured neckerchiefs and Teva sandals. Colour-wise, crisp whites punctuated a palette that included black, navy and grey alongside a variety of earth tones. To view the show in full follow the link below.

Words

The multi-talented, Auckland-based sculptor Gidon Bing, known for working in the mediums of wood, metal and ceramic, has created a number of beautiful vessels which enunciate a calm minimalism through their sturdy, simple forms and attractive French khaki colouring. Everyday Needs currently has a selection of different sized bowls, as well as a tall, footed vase – all of which would look great in any home, holding court in the middle of a table for decoration or used purposefully during a meal.

Quaker Marine Supply Co. Summer Whites

01. Tennis Hat

Words

It shouldn't be, but a good white hat is hard to find. Thanks to an excellent tip from a good friend, I've sorted the baseball cap side of the equation for the summer months, but the elusive well-fitting bucket is still proving tricky to track down. Or it was, until I discoverd the Quaker Marine Supply Co. Tennis Hat, over at Bermuda Trips. Available alongside the Swordfish Cap, both options are not only pretty much perfect for the warm weather and sun stroke avoidance, they're also increasingly harder to find, due to the company going out of business a few years ago. A sad thing when you consider they could once count both Hunter S. Thompson and Earnest Hemingway as customers and fans.

Noah

01. A welcome return.

Words

Brendon Babenzien has been receiving quite a bit of press with the recent relaunch of his brand, Noah. There's good reason too: with years of success at Supreme as well as Noah in the past, nobody is doubting Brendon's design sensibility. To start, or restart, a brand today you have to be passionate about it, because it's not an easy undertaking. Fortunately Brendon seems to have the drive and passion to create something that he believes in. On first look, he's used a variety of unique fabrics on relatively classic shapes to give them new life, more functionality and most importantly, his own personal perspective.
