Strangeways NYC Pocket T-Shirts

01

Images

01. Bored Before.
02. On Tour.

Words

One thing I’ve noticed in listening to The Smiths and Morrissey over the years is that they can be pretty polarizing. There are obviously those that are blissfully unaware either way, but few music fans seem to take the work lightly – loving it or hating it, with not much room in-between. These T-shirts from Stangeways NYC would be a great way to show your allegiance to the divisively outspoken frontman.

The Real McCoy's Mackinaw Coat

01

01. Custom urea buttons.
02. Melton wool lining.

Words

Commonly referred to as the Jeep Coat, this double-breasted Mackinaw from The Real McCoy’s is a fantastic piece of outerwear, newly released by the brand this season. First issued as military uniform in 1944, its nomenclature originates from the exceptional warmth it offered, which drew Jeep drivers to wear it as a way to keep out the cold while operating their open-topped transportation. The heavyweight coat is lined with melton wool and features a highly durable duck canvas exterior, cutting a extremely timeless figure to say the least.

Revive

01. Revive x Fuct SSDD Souvenir Jacket.

Words

When considering places to track down certain high-end labels Michigan might not spring to mind, but now is probably a good time to start rethinking that. Revive is tucked away in the Detroit suburb of Birmingham and judging by their online offering – which includes the likes of Raf Simons, Undercover and Visvim – they’re doing things a whole lot better than many shops in much bigger cities.

There’s sure to be something for most, ranging from fashion-forward lines to more vintage-inspired brands. Interestingly enough, Revive has worked with Fuct SSDD to create a couple of limited edition jackets for the holiday season that draw on historical military references. One such style is an olive drab bomber jacket with special stencilling and patches, while the other is a reversible satin souvenir jacket with custom embroidery on one side and a plain reverse. Both are due to be released today at noon EST. If any of this sounds up your alley, be sure to add this outstanding shop to your browsing list to catch future new arrivals.

Yaeca Like Wear Indigo Pants

01

Images

01. Simple styling.
02. 85% cotton, 15% linen.

Words

Yaeca is one of those brand’s that sometimes, upon seeing the right piece, could be mistaken for a vintage reproduction company. Once you dig a little deeper, it becomes readily apparent that the Japanese line is actually taking classic military references and making incredibly luxurious modern versions of these timeless items. In this case a US Navy utility pant provides the starting point, while cotton and linen are mixed to create a custom denim fabric that imbues the finished article with a softer feel.

The latest NikeLab ACG collection is released today, and this short film takes us behind the scenes with Jarrett Reynolds and Errolson Hugh as they highlight the principles behind the line, the challenges they've faced along the way, and the importance of achieving a balance between functionality and aesthetics. It's one of Nike's most interesting projects, with considerable depth and quality at its core.

A.P.C. T-Shirts Musique

01

Images

01. Paradis T-Shirt.
02. Nicolas Godin T-Shirt.

Words

This fall A.P.C. has worked alongside four musicians to create a special range of T-shirts. The French brand has long been involved in music, going so far as to install a recording studio in their Paris headquarters back in 1998. The small collection features artwork which ties into a particular recording from each artist. My favourite corresponds to Contrepoint by Nicholas Godin, but the other three by Étienne Daho, Flavien Berger, and Paradis aren't bad either.

Available from A.P.C.
