Details

—01. Now available in both navy & tan.

Words

While hunting for the perfect rugged canvas back pack, Duluth was the first name that came to mind last summer. We have been thrilled to continually work with the US company on our custom bags and the recent delivery includes both the colours we've made in the last year. The tan and navy canvas are the perfect accents to any outfit and the size and details are ideal for daily use. Both colours come with the locker loop, interior pocket and a lifetime guarantee.

Porter x Coffee and Milk Rucksack

01

Images

—01. Black synthetic fabric.
—02. Nice leather patches.
—03. Strap detail.

Words

Another bag that can only be found in Japan? Yes, I know but that seems to be the case with a lot of accessories I like. I'm unaware of the history of the Coffee and Milk brand myself, but I am definitely a fan of this collaboration. I don't mind the playful leather patches on the top of the bag, but it's the overall shape, style and colour that is most appealing.

Engineered Garments Workaday Tote

01

Images

—01. Subtle contrast stitching.
—02. Removable shoulder strap.
—03. Tough off-white canvas.

Words

Two things that I really like, Engineered Garments and canvas bags. The Workaday canvas collection has been around for seasons now but the tote bag continues to elude me. It's mostly the price point of around $225 that has kept me from buying it, but it's always on my mind and at the top of my list. The Workaday range from Engineered Garments is probably my favorite capsule collection. It consists of great products across the board, and this tote bag is one of my favorites. I will definitely purchase it one of these days, but in the meantime you will also catch a glimpse of it in our spring issue of Inventory as well.

Words

As some of you know, Inventory is preparing to open its first shop in the coming weeks. The process of printing Issue 02 and getting the space ready has been strenuous but fun, and definitely exciting. As you get closer to finishing this kind of project, there's always small details to address and things to find that will look great and improve the space. Some of them we've got, others we are yet to find. It will always be a process, but we're looking forward to announcing the opening date very soon.

Decho Camouflage Hats

01
02

Details

—01. Works well with the simplicity of a white shirt.
—02. Interior details.
—03. Interesting patchwork fabrics.

Words

While people are saying camouflage is coming back, or has come back, I still haven't seen a lot of good new items showcasing the pattern, and I've seen even less people sporting it well. It's definitely more difficult to wear than a plain olive or khaki, but I always feel it works nicely in small doses. If you're one for the safari or bucket hat, these versions by Decho might be just right. The colors are great and I like the leather accents too.

Words

You can always count on J.Press for seasonal basics done well. These gingham pocket squares are simple, colourful and can add just the right touch to an outfit. Stuff it in your back pocket or in your blazer, but try to avoid having it look like a bouquet of gingham growing out of your pocket.

Words

Superior Labor is definitely more known for their work with canvas, specifically with their bags. Through some of the toughest and most utilitarian totes on the market, the Japanese brand has started to make its way into the North American market via J.Crew. However, the brand does much more and produces a fair sized soft goods collection along with a variety of accessories and items like this combo dish set. The colors are great, it comes in a nice Superior Labor branded bag and they just might be the best option to have around the house or outdoors for the summer.

Porter Bi-Fold Wallets

01

Images

—01. Tan.
—02. Brown.
—03. Black.

Words

Earlier this spring Porter released some of the finest looking wallets I’ve seen lately. The Bi-Fold wallets are made from premium leather and soaked in water to give it a worn and oiled look. The result is essentially the perfect wallet. The size and zipper function make the wallet very useful and good a keeping your financials safe, while also looking great and being easy to carry. I have had a tough time finding the perfect wallet and this would likely be my choice if the price were a little more accessible. Available at Nomad and Stuart & Wright.
